This was on the member gallery (Nussekudden) I hope he doesn't mind my posting it here, it seems to answer some questions I had in my mind since seeing Choppers dedication to riding.

72 degrees today here. Probably 28 tonight.....Texas weather!

Our daughter just moved back here from Fort Worth and I was surprised how often the weather down there was similar to here. Lot's more severe weather and heat in the summer, though, that's for sure! I could use some 72 right now! That's probably not happening until May!

It was 29 degrees the last three mornings this week when I rode to work. I rode the BMW K1200GT one morning and the Rocket the other two. I'll be honest; the GT is my winter bike. Heated seat and grips and electric windshield make for major comfort for cold weather riding. Snow and salty roads aren’t an issue where I live. I can't say that I'd subject my bikes to salty roads. Once that cancer of rust and corrosion starts it's hard to stop.

I'm with you on the heated grips and seat which is why I put them on the R3T this fall. They make a major difference especially when it's super cold or marginal and I'm not fully dressed for the temp. I'm not sure about the electric windshield, sounds like a good idea though! :)

I just got done riding. put 66 miles on the bike in NC by camp lejuene.
it was a little cold but way worth it. No snow will ride.
