Will Roadster exhaust fit 05 R3?

I have an 05 R3 with the stock 3 pipe exhaust system. I want to replace it with a dual system. I really like the stock exhaust on the new Roadster but I'm not sure if it will fit my 05. The Rocket's design has been similar since the first bike in 04, so I'm hoping they will fit. Anyone out there know about this?

I bought a 2012 roadster and although I can't answer your exact question, I am trying to sell my Accessory Silencers. They look just like the roadster stock mufflers but they make a bit more noise (not anything like TORs, just a bit more than stock, round silky note that roars a bit when you roll on).

Anyway if you can find a 3 into 2 collector that'll fit, I'd be happy to sell you the accessory cans for cheap. They've got about 4000 miles on them.

Ok, I would just have to make sure that the 2012 silencers would fit the 2005 3 into 2 collector. I'll check around. Thanks

You might could make it work. You would need everything except the header. Also, the collector for the 3 muffler set up for the R3 Standard/Classic uses a hanger just in front of the swing arm. Not sure if the Roadster uses this same hanger or if they made changes here for the Roadster exhaust. I know the Roadster's ABS stuff is under there is well..

Yeah from what I've seen most manufacturers do seem to have explicitly separate exhausts for the roadster. There's a good chance you'd have to tinker to make it work. Still if you find a way to make the stock roadster exhaust work, I can save you some cash getting the parts (and the accessory silencers sound much nicer than the stock ones).

Just send me a private message if it turns out you'd like to try them.

I have done this on my 2009 Classic.

Roadster mufflers are OK as is, although if you haven't already got them think about the Tors from Norseman - better sound and lighter. The Roadster cross-over pipe will fit but will either need a bit of modification or not use the two original mountings, I'm not sure you need them - the cross-over is much lighter than the old cat box. You also need to get Roadster muffler brackets and heat shields.

I could probably find the list of parts I had to get if you are interested, let me know.

Looks like I got a PM from somebody interested in those silencers. I'm not looking to create any bad blood so I'm mentioning it here (since I offered 'em to you) before sorting out what to do. Please let me know one way or the other!
