Did similiar with mine without the relocation kit , though I did fit smaller indicators too , had to get rid of those huge ones that Triumph gave us 8)
I keep on seeing on Ebay and stores (online) license plate reloctor kits for the R3. Anybody know why. I did some adjustments on mine and got the plate up to the fender.

I cut the bottom off of mine, visualize if you will:
the four corners of the plate holder in it stock form.
how it forms an H on its side: Or an elongated I
now slice that F$$$$ in half from left to right, now use what was the top mounting holes for your bottom mounting holes....tuck the plate up so you can bolt it in place
Cool trick!
I did something very similar on the wife's Honda. Did it while relocating the rear signal lamps back for hardbag clearence. That one involved cutting and welding!
I'm happy with the big stocker turn lamps on the Rocket. You can't have too much illumination on the back of your bike here in Florida, aka "Gods waiting room".
Will do the tag mod soon!
Heck yeah . . .took about 10 minutes . . . only because I have the helmet locks on the rear plate bracket and they use those special allen wrenches to remove 'em so people can't steal your helmets.
I do like the signals moved in a bit, but with my helmet locks back there . . . I will be happy with the FREE modification.
Nice and tidy and you can see so much more of the rear tire which is the main reason I wanted to do it.
I did the side mount plate. which has a stop light (led). It looks cool two stop lights and very noticeable. Going to have to come up with something
the same with bags.
