I bought a new one w/o riding or sitting on it with my feet on the pegs, did the other two, classic and touring, great fit for me. The Roadster I cannot get my feet up on the pegs and the bike has not got a mile on it from me on account of it.I need them to extend out and down some too.Bought it 08/09/2011. Stinks, and I screwed up. If anyone knows, please LMK. thank you.

Your looking at swapping to the classic pegs. The good news it can be done, the bad news is it might cost a bunch. You might be able to find someone who wants to swap to the roadster pegs, and would direct swap you for yours. Personally I might move mine 2 inches further, or I will just put a set of pop down pegs out front to be able to stretch out. I just dont like not having my foot close to a brake lever

Grumpy Rocket, you way over my head,I don't have a clue as to how or what your telling me. Any pics anywhere that I can look at to see how this is done and how expensive I guess is first,I went about broke on buying this new Roadster that I cannot ride. LOL,sucks though.

Pics added

Im gonna try and add two pics of my 2012 R3 Roadster's OEM shift setup and brake setup that I cannot ride on as they are too high and to far back.

Gary ,what Grumpy Rocket means is to get the gear off an older Rocket (09 or older)which had the pegs further forward.
There is a bit to it as you need to extend the brake and brake lines.
I have the foot boards and I would never change them.

Most of the bits and pieces crop up on ebay sooner or later, but rarely do they all come along at the same time.

Mine, small pic but you can see the distance from the exhaust compared to yours

Your right too ,Im all but done with it,it will just have to sit and be new till next year unless I get lucky and that doesn't seem to be,this morning on the way to wash clothes,my car won't start, thats gonna sit too in my driveway untill I call the scrap guys after the plate expires.I will make my bike payments off my SS check and have to move in with my sis.Bike will be paid for but it won't have any miles on it. When it rains it puors and I guess its my turn. Broke don't buy zip. Thanks for the info. Have a good day.

Gary: A pity you are not closer. We are short of stature and the forward foot controls on our '08 Standard are a bit of a stretch for us. We have sat on a Roadster and for us the mid controls would be considerably more comfy. We are told that the controls can be swapped without too much difficulty and little expense. Alas, we reside over in the Dallas area. Were there less miles between us, we could meet and switch out and both be happyier Oh well... We trudge on (w/very short strides).

Well my friend that figures,LOL.Im gonna try again today to get my feet off the pegs but my hip is going to rule me out again Im afraid. Ill at least get to start it up.My purchase sheet for the new R3 shows it has 10 miles on it,its only 5 though. None of which ive had the pleasure to put on it. Have a good day in Texas.

you need the rails and pegs/levers from a standard rocket and they will swap over. Ebay or a bike breaker might have them, also dealers might have some if customers have swapped for floorboards.

Hey, if Gary can't ride his anyway perhaps he could pull his off and send them to you to swap over on yours and then send back to him. Sounds like he'd need some technical guidance both with the take off and reinstall but I'm sure there's enough available here to 'talk' him through it........
