Which Waterproof gloves?...

Like most riders ive had and still have many pairs of gloves. My heated gloves get bloody soaked when its pouring so i put weatherproof mittens over the top...that was a complete waste!...Iv'e tried Triumph Dalsgaard 3xl but they wont go over my knuckles and there are no 4xl's...they dont make them!..WTF?...I am getting more than a little irritated with gloves that according to the manufacturers will fit but actually dont come within a bulls roar!...can someone point me in the direction of who makes a great waterproof goretex 4xl glove before i go lala!...cheers...

Klim makes some pretty dependable waterproof Gor-Tex gloves. I have a short pair of non insulated. and a gauntlet pair of insulated, that have worked very well on long touring trips. Though don't see 4xl...oops.

I have done this a few times to various things like my hiking shoes, gloves, and I'm going to eventually do this for my riding geans.
I would suggest doing a tear run first on things that you might not want to discolour like riding geans
My hiking shoes and gloves have been flawless for 2 years of normal use

I feel your pain. I've returned so many gloves over the years searching for something warm and waterproof that has some dexterity and actually fits. As far as that goes, I routinely go up two sizes over my actual size so that I can get them to even go on. Just about every brand seems to be sized for women (slender fit) based on their sizing guidelines and the problem with simply sizing up for width is that the length of the fingers is then almost always much too long. I do have some heated gloves that fit well, but are not waterproof and wouldn't provide much protection in a spill. I'll be watching this post with interest, as I'm also still in the hunt.

I, like yourself, have all the various types of gloves, and if they're well worn but not worn out, i've still got them.
For example, i've got a pair of full gauntlet textile ones with removable liners for long wet journeys (Rukka, gortex). They have an elastic adjuster with a toggle adjuster to help seal the glove over the jacket sleeve. They are warm yet breathable (up to a point) and are 100% waterproof. I've had them for years and they still work fine.
The rest of my gloves are leather.
My more older leather ones have a goretex lining. Don't think my older ones are goretex.......well......it's irrelevant because they aren't water tight.

I have a medium/short gauntlet pair by a Richa. Had them about 10 years.
They have armour on the fingers and knuckle etc... and they are still surprisingly water proof despite having a fair amount of wear on them. I doubt they are still current, but I can say that Richa made a decent glove.

If I was replacing that pair, i'd look at something similar from them, or another brand I would certainly consider is Rukka. They make stuff that works, but they're not cheap. They do leather ones that look decent for most 'occasions'. They're called Apollo, I think.

Interesting replies guys...i particularly enjoyed those waterproofing videos...I have the same problem with tarps covering my firewood turning into unsightly rotted looking covers after a few months....i like the old ways of doing stuff like our grandparents did....might have a go at that.
I'm looking at some Richa gloves too as i see they do a 4xl in some of their gloves.
If you want a top line glove here in NZ its going to put you back close to $NZ350-$NZ400 so i want to make the right choice.
