Where to remount the ECU.

If I pull the Air box . Where do you recommend that I mount the ECU mounting plate. I am up in the air as to which way to go on this modification. Lots of plus points but can cause problems if not done right.

And what exactly is it bolted onto? mmmm? Pretty sure it's threaded inserts in the underseat bit of the airbox. I'm not going to pop down and undo bolts - but from fitting the PCV I'm fairly sure that's where the ECU bolts to.

This is on my 06 non classic . The mounting plate screws into the right side of the underseat air box,behind the side cover. . Then the ECU mounts on to the plate. . My plan is to mount a air horn in the air box space . I do want to giive priorty to a good solid ECU mounting.

If it were me Mick - I'd look about and see if you can find another airbox on Ebay to butcher.

I'm sure you could find a way to fit the compressor inside the airbox without excessive reduction of structural integrity - I assume the horns will be exterior. That or I think you're looking at fabrication and probably some lug welding onto the frame.
