What's This Plug For?

While installing DEcosse's wireless ignition I noticed a plug of some sort wrapped in electrical tape. Any ideas what it is used for? Circled in red in attached picture.

Kinda difficult to be sure when it's covered up

There are a couple of accessories plugs around there.
That location, general size & shape I'd say it's the optional accessory heated grips plug.. are there 3 wires in it, purple-black-blue?
