Welll... According to that "average age" thread, There are only a handful of us on R3s under thirty. Must mean I'm prematurely wise.

I smoke a pipe with my favorite house tobacco blend from this little shop in Buena Park that will only tell me that it involves Irish whiskey and vanilla beans.
Stupid trade secrets.
I keep forgetting to take pictures with the bike, and now it is in the shop being fitted with 11.5" progressives. Should be done this weekend.
Also, I don't know how to post pictures to my profile on here.
I keep a diary on real paper with a vintage Montblanc or a TWSBI mini, and I enjoy crocheting to videogames... So not exactly tech savvy.
Does your post mean I get to call you Gramps?

Think twice about those 11.5 inch progressives - ESPECIALLY if they are the 212 model.

340mm (13.4") would be ridiculously tall. The stock length is 317.5 mm (12.5").
Some of us have gone even taller than stock in order to get enough lean angle for our riding style.
If you are a fairly gentle rider, I would NOT go lower than 300mm (11.8") in length AND I would be sure and get high quality shocks.
Something like Hagon Nitro or Progressive 444. Do something with your seat if still necessary to get lower.
Be careful with reducing your ground clearance more than absolutely necessary.

A used set of 12" 440s shouldn't be terribly hard to source and shouldn't run our fair, young Captain Chipmunk more than $250. Considering the minute pragmatic and effective differences between them and a set of new 444s, which will run well north of 600 spondolas, I'd think that they would represent the best bang for the lady's buck.

Presumably she is looking to get her feet a bit closer to the ground both physically and metaphysically? Regardless of her reason, I am certain that we can assist our new member with whatever needs arise, R3-wise.
