What would happen if....?

So, I got in a hurry this morning, and put the motorcycle into gear with the kick-stand down-first time for this!- and BAMM! the Rocket shut IMMEDIATELY down (like it was meant to do). This got me wondering; because of my size 14 EEE shoe size, I have very little room (about an inch fore and aft) to put my foot, between the gear shift lever and the kick-stand. I am very cautious as to my shoe placement.
My question is, what would happen if I accidentally deployed the kick-stand at speed? Would the engine shut down? I understand that if the only thing happened was the kick-stand went down, that would be hazardous enough; but would the engine shut off too?
This is why I have been thinking of either moving my foot pegs forward for more clearance, or installing floorboards (more forward) to space my foot out from the kick-stand.
Any thoughts?

You can adjust the gear shifter up or down to maybe give you more room to move your foot forward some.... just throwing that out there.

I would think it would be fairly hard to accidentally fully deploy the kickstand at highway speeds. With the spring retention and the wind resistance, you would have to hit it fairly hard...every once in a while I have to tighten my highway pegs on the crash bars as the wind forces them down. If you somehow managed to accidentally bump it, most likely your foot would slip off and the kickstand would slap back into place. Meanwhile, your foot would end up eating asphalt. I've never paid attention to just when the motor shuts off, does it shut off only at full extension of the kickstand, or somewhere between retraction and extension? Now full deployment at speed of course might be catastrophic...footboards would be a good solution, but with 14EEEs you might be cramped for space. I have footboards with heel/toe shifters and size 13 feet. There is barely enough space for my boots to clear both gear levers, additionally, the heel lever is very easy to trip by accident...when I shift up in gear, all I have to do is barely bump it. But the system works great and has me completely spoiled, I will never go without boards and heel/toe shifters again! Of course if you only had the toe shifters with boards, I would think you should have plenty of space.

Get your grinder and remove the bit on the heel shifter that sticks out. You will still be able to use your heel on the lever, but you will also have all the foot space that you need.

Thanks, that would probably work...I will probably leave it alone though as I've grown accustomed to it and haven't accidentally heel-shifted for a very long time.

What the hell are you doing with size fourteen feet? I replaced my pegs with floor boards about nine years ago I never had your problem just not a peg guy.
