**** o2 sesnsor went haywire and charged up. combined w/ a little rich fuel exhaust and ya got a homemade plasma.??? g-man can probably explain it all. in detail. i do know that ya don't need a new pipe. just a 1st class certified welder!!!! and he'll make it like new! no big thang. --john
exatly the same thing happned to me in the early days.got it replaced by warranty but they welded it while waited for the new manifold.
would show u pictures but it seems like the other forum has deleted my membersfolder with all the pictures i managed to save..
Rust forms in areas of high stress...welding causes high stress in concentrated areas. Better choice of base metals, filler wire, or technique is the cure.
grey---1st class certified welder is the technique. then ya gotta figure out what caused it in tha 1st place.--or else it will RE-occur. same general location-same reason- adjacent usually--weld is stronger than tha metal.
