Have an '05 R3 which has forward placed footboards welded to the rails. Have been told I need Roadster rails and associated gear and rear brake parts to bring my foot position back to thhe centre more or less. What has anyone got ?
Based in UK but dont mind the postage costs for the right parts.

We need pictures of yours too, as they may be a Triumph factory version in demand still and folks happy to swap for their Roadster ones.

There are 5 different sets of Triumph R3 rails and associated foot controls that will fit ALL model R3s as they share the same engine block used for mounting. Switching between some versions is much easier than others which require the rear brake running gear brake line alteration etc.
Sourcing new parts can be very expensive eg a Touring Footboard with rails and controls onto a Roadster. That member may wish to part with his Roadster ones now. @davidr2023

I believe they are comparing the Classic Footboards A9758081 (LHS) to the 'Standard' model rails with fwd footpegs (RHS) in the photos not the Roadster, but the Roadster rail is probably at least as low as the Classic but the pegs are much further back.

Same rails as R3Standard with aftermarket RIVCO boards installed in place of the pegs.

I know of at least 3 aftermarket rail systems (RAASK & ?? ) and control options over the years with only one still in production on order from a forum member in WA Australia.

If you have long legs you could drop your rails entirely and use fully fwd controls from a big US retail supplier.

On the other hand if you want to go even further back.;):D:cool:
There were RAASK rearsets as well but apparently a little flimsy.

I have some custom made R3 billet rearset mounts with brand new Italian fully adjustable Rizoma rearsets with multiple sets of brake, clutch and footpegs. They come with a Brembo rear brake master cyl, reservoir and linkages hoses etc.

A simple full side on shot would be easier but fairly sure they are the 'Classic' accessory or sold fitted on Classics when new.

They will look like the top and bottom LHS of this photo comparison.

Not as rare as the 'Angled' footboard rails (that seem to share the Standard peg footrail seen in the RHS of the photo, but you should have no problem finding someone on this forum willing to swap within a month or two.

If the welds are painted over rather than chromed it may be a backyard though possibly perfect job.

It is possible to weld the Touring front or rear stock footboards or a pair of Classic footboards onto a Standard R3 footpeg rail too I suppose.

Alloy to steel not really a viable long term solution. Not really comparable to weld to each other
