I know it's not Triumph related but here is a picture of my KTM 560 SMR supermoto. The right main crank bearing failed Running the Snake between Shady Valley and Mountain City TN. I'm so deep into this bike I'll have to keep it forever!!

Next time you have the radiator shroud off of the rocket have a look at what is stamped into the side of the radiator...........yep u guessed it KTM not triumph

you really do wonder how much swaping bits and pieces happens in the manufacturing world, my Husky 510 has a Ducati starter motor, i am pretty happy about this as my mates ducati has always got something wrong with it but the starter motor always gets a good workout without fail:roll::roll:

Now you know why I wrote the book. It's the simple pleasures of moto-maintenance.

charcoal canister says honda.. it really only makes sense to use parts from someone else since they've already done the tooling.

that's a nasty failure of that bearing though.. ouch

The Dodge Colt was a Mitsubishi, the Honda Passport an Isuzu, Infinity is Nissan and Lexus is Toyota. Nearly everything you raise the hood on has Nippondenso, Bosch, A/C or some part made by a company halfway around the world. You can't even depend on a vehicle made here in the states to be completely SAE fasteners. I'm just happy to see individual parts made by companies with one of those names rather than "Stans Starters". Know what I mean Vern? lol

The annoying thing with Triumph is that when you order a part, it is probably in stock right next door under another number, but you have to wait for it to come across the pond with a Triumph sticker on it (and a higher price tag).
