Sadly these mountains in which we live are becoming completely saturated with autos. Knowing that and my age keeps marching on, I'll need to come off this mountain someday. Where in the corner of the three states in the title would a BBQ makin, pie bakin hillbilly do well ? Input please. A motorcycle oasis if you please. I ain't skeered of winter or solitude.

Utah or one like you ,Montana,IMO

Athol, ID. I wouldn't bother with MT or UT but that is just me. If snow makes you skeered you might want to try the south part of ID but it is so different from from the north part they even have a different time zone. ;)

I actually have some family in Lapwai and Lewiston. Been out there a few times. I like Idaho, my great grandmother Mary lived and died there.

might have misunderstood thought it was to visit, not move to Utah has good weather on this side Montana/Idaho to harsh winter(temps) for this old man even growing up new york

Lewiston is nice. Right down the road from two college towns, close enough to go to either Spokane or Boise if you need a get away to civilization. When I retire from my present job I will probably hop across the border to settle in ID.

You could always look towards Oklahoma. Very light traffic in the rural areas. Piss poor economy. really bad weather, cold but rideable winters, sticky hot summers and really bad roads. Not much traffic because no one really wants to live here. Great place for someone on a bike.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Athol is indeed a nice very small town (under 1k).
My fav in ID is Kooskia and Kamiah - especially if you be a fish and hunt guy!
Beautiful country with four seasons and not too many peeps!
If ya ever want to come out and lookie-loo let me know - I have stayed there several times and ridden the country many times.
