Welcome Aboard

Great to have you join us. With your experience in bikes, this had to be a great one for you to show interest. I only hope you enjoy it half as much as my 2005 has provided me.

Plus... I kinda hoped you knew Jenna Jameson or Nikki Nova
Tomo, I don't recognize Nikki Nova. Can't be any better that Jenna!!!!

What's in a name

Welcome ****star.

I hope your Rocket gets to you quickly and with little issue. Please check out the many features and forums that abound here. We have a powerful Photo Album section for you to create and store photos's.:)

Thanks for giving us a try. We are family friendly but not to the point of being anal, after all this is a "motorcycle forum" We have a special "adult forum" that you can write more freely though. We do shun personal attacks, and repeated negatively as it disrupts the "forums flow" if you will. We try to be civilized, but as humans, we fail from time to time,....anf life goes on.:bch:

****star:

I'm the guy who tests the limits here. The limits of civility and correctness. Besides, in as much as this is the only internet forum I presently post on, I post a lot. Old Tomo has stay with the program to stay abreast of me. He had his chance to oust me a while ago but in a flurry of sound judgment decided not to. I'm glad of that. I've met some great people here. It's a really excellent site for tips and information and to complain about problems that you are having (either real or imagined) with your bike or life and have understanding and helpful people that share your passion offer suggestions and advice, most of which is sound and informative.

There is a really nice album section where you can get ideas for mods and bling and see what some of us other Captains (and First Mates) ride. As you personalize your R3, you too can participate and precipitate with photo's and commentary and we also can add our comments to your photo's. If you get a chance, check out Raymond Braswell's album. This guy is a chick magnet.

Hang around and post often. It's not the name or alias that makes a poster. It's their true intent.:)

Welcome PS,

18 bikes in 19 years-sounds like Flip and his x-wives. This is a great site, good people and good natured fun. Please contribute often and post pictures when the new Beast gets here.

Think you will find they thought you were one of the many scammers that try to join various forums and link up ' adult ' sites or viagra . Hence the seemingly short answer to your rejection

Maybe try pm them and they and yourself would under stand the situation .

There are many members there from your part of the country , and also have annual weekend meets , and monthly meets arranged .

Its your loss not to try , but up to you :)

Thanks folks

That's a great welcome! Thanks all. Just picked up my Rocket today - WOW!! Like nothing I've ever ridden. First impressions after just 1 day (and a brief test ride at Eddys in Leeds - who've been great with me so far)

Weight: it's heavy, but once above 2 or 3 mph - it feels normal.
Power: Not gone mad so far but yes it's going to be quick. I LOVE the grunt - incredible.
Riding position: Never had a crusier style before but already adjusting to it. Had a few "feet pawing mid air" moments after pulling away - those controls a bit further forward than I'm used to!
Suspension: Hmm, leat favourite bit. Was expecting bouncy on bad rounds and have got it. Better on most roads than I was expecting but am definitely going to have to change the shocks.
Brakes: Great, not scary but surprisingly effective. Rear feels a bit strong but I'll soon adjust.
Gearbox: Much better than I expected, still notchy and clanking in places but in a few thou it will be much better still I'm sure.
Style: Jaw dropping, I still can't stop going out to the garage and looking at it. Have started the chrome polishing already, the results are stupendous. I think my usual winter riding will demand a lot of elbow grease though to keep on top of it.

But what I didn't expect, what's really got me captivated, is just how I feel riding the Rocket. It just feels such a special bike, with that great crucufix type riding position and such a crazy big engine at your disposal. Already the bike has had more attention than any other I've had and I kind of like that too. I can't think of a bike that made me feel this good about it, warts and all. I'm impressed.

Enjoy the weekend folks, there's riding to be done.....
