TuneBoy glitch

So when I start playing with Tuneboy it is best to hook up a battery maintainer?

i'm laughing out loud as i read this as my blood pressure went up for a couple of days in battle with the tuneboy. it's pretty basic (for some), but the first time is a bear. hang in there, you'll get there. it's definitely worth it in the end.

Dragline...............after I read all the warnings on the TB pdf's.............about what to do AFTER you fcuk it up..........I am getting a tad gunshy...............then after hooking and unhooking and restarting etc. I get to where I cant remember where I left the key in the &^^% thing!

So my imagination went wild when I have NEVER had a battery problem with this bike.........I thought "great, now I accidently erased all the fuel from the tables or something and the bike now a boat anchor."

'course after some reflection..............and choice words............I think after the trickle charger runs a while.............it will be OK.

now about that lead in the pencil............you know they say.........some pencils are bigger than others....................................just because mine is dead at the moment...................................

In the SEC tab.................the TB manual says to open the secondaries all the way............you need to change these values to 225..................the tunes that say they are full power and 7% removed..................all have the SEC tab values set at 100.

so did Wayne change this number to a %open? or are they all wrong?

So far so good........................I heard the fuel pump kick in after the download............then quivering with antici....pation................I hit the start button........................tries to turn over........but will not.................someone please tell me this has happened to them...........and it is just a weak battery!

I just downloaded my first tune today.
The first time I tried I forgot to disable the hibernation feature on my Laptop, after the download was almost completed the screen went blank.
Then I turned the computer back on and the download had been timed out.
I disconnected and tried to start the bike and no luck, but the whole process only took about 10 minute's, so I didn't think it was the battery.
I reconnected and went to Tools in the Tune Edit and found ( Recover from failed download )clicked that, the computer did it's thing and
everything is fine now.
I went to ( Identify Mad in ECU ) and it showed new tune.
I think everything is fine now, but I was sweating there for a minute.

The TB manual needs to be updated... 100% means secondaries fully open. But if you REALLY want the full kick, physically remove the secondaries as they are still slightly closed at idle, and open sooo sloowly.

hombre

yep...............that is the next project..........Dragline said he would help me with that...................now if I can just get this thing to start!

UPDATE

sauntered out to the garage awhile ago............bike started! sporadic idling........then settled down.................let it idle........sure as hell wasn't gonna shut her off................put on my gear.............took off out of my development........hit the main road.......saw my neighbor in his white car behind me............i did a tentative run........................till i got to a larger highway......................at stop sign......noticed the white car behind me i was showing off for...............was now a &^%$ing.............cop!
I put on my most "innocent slow cruiser dude" look...............and he turned right.........i went left....duh. wound her out some.........wondered if i was just wishful thinking more performance.............bike STILL has decel popping.........not near as bad as before..................but i am wondering............................can you guys with a stock tune.......hit throttle in first on a roll.......and get air? can you get air in second by rolling off throttle a tad and then hitting it again?
I don't remember being able to do that!

but i can now..............

P.S. anyone out there thinking about this...............I hated to program a VCR..............and with the help from this forum (mainly to talk me down from the tower....except for the one guy that wanted to help feed me ammo)................i did it..............................so i know you can. :!:

thanks dougl.........................who knows how many lives you saved today.
