Tuneboy - Getting The ECU Number

Received my Tuneboy today, and I'm in danger of falling at the first hurdle

I've sent the following to tuneboy, but wondered if anyone here could get me a quick answer?

"I've just received my Tuneboy and am trying to get the ECU number to send to you.

I am getting the following messages on the TuneEdit screen when I try to get the ECU number:

"Sending initialisation string", followed by

"Initialisation string received and acknowledged", followed by

"Trying to connect to Sagem type ECU"

The message then goes back to "Sending initialisation string", and just keeps going through the same 3 messages.

Am I doing something wrong?

For information the bike is a Triumph Rocket, and it has a Keihin ECU."

Quick response from tuneboy (quicker than you lot anyway ):

"Hi,

first open a Keihin tune, on CD under \Tunes\Triumph\Keihin."

This worked, so just waiting for the unlock key now.

I found the directions were fairly straight forward from the software. But do you have the latest version? 3.0 or something like 3.01? Not 2.0 You need to make the initial hook up, follow the directions and if you have to do a second go around, under properties change the com port (from 2 to 4 or whatever). Then close the program and reopen it!!! (Don't need to turn off the 'puter, just close and reopen the program with each change in configuration. When that is working go to 'tools' and and click "Get ECU Serial Number" Don't give up, it will, (as these things always do) turn out to be something really simple.

TurboFan - I guess you were writing your reply while I was posting mine?

No problems with ports or anything like that. I think it's defaulted to look for a Sagem ECU, so I just had to tell it to lok for a Keihin ECU. Version 3.0.

Anyway, all sorted now, and I've just received the unlock key - not sure if it's an automated system or someone's working late (time now is 9.45pm in UK).

Looking forward to having a play tomorrow
