A bit deeper tone.......

Hi there, here's my 2 cents worth. I have on 08 R3T and I have
D&D's on my bike. They seem to work pretty well. Fit and finish
was very nice. My only complaint is that they have a bevel cut
with the long edge at the bottom. It makes contact with the ground
too easily when I'm cornering or leaving a driveway with a steep curb.
The sound is about as much as I would want to go on long tours with.
They can be had for about $635 a set (EBAY). Power increase is probably
very minor (my guess is about 3-4 HP and probably the same for torque).
The other gain is the 15+ pounds lighter that they are over stock. I can't
comment on Staintune other than that they are really big bucks. Good luck.

I have both pipes and the 2-pipe TORS are nearly the same sound to me. At road speed I think the D&D's are a tad louder, but my wife doesn't complain so I'm leavin them on. I HAVE had the pipe dragging issue, but only since I lowered the rear suspension 1". I think the "power increase" of either pipe is mostly psychological.....louder means more power. The noise along with the "nervous wrist" syndrom is a carryover from the Horley gang.

That's good to know about the D&D's since I put Hagons on to lower my Touring about an in. I am a short guy

I thought about TORS but since I like to do long trips, I prefer listening to my tunes vs the muffler. Guess I need to ride a Touring with the TORS before I jump.

Can't speak for the D&Ds, but have been running the TORS on my classic for about a month now. Tremendously better than stock. I actually like the sound quite a bit. It's very loud with a heavy load on, but not as much when cruising steady (around 3k-3500 rpm). Was told it was a good indicator to those around me that I just hit the throttle and they need to be paying attention.
Just did a nice long weekend, no issues hearing my tunes, but my scala speakers are in my helmet and not on the front of the bike.


Short answer, guess I can't really help you for the touring, but wanted to say I like the TORS on the classic

I like my D&D's. I wanted performance and a good exhaust sound when I made my choice. The stock mufflers were so quiet my bike sounded like a sewing machine. But, having been a Harley rider, I knew I did not want loud pipes. I ride on road trips and the noise gets old fast. I believe the TORs can't be taken apart for service and modifications like the D&D's can. Something to think about for later on down the modification road,,,.
