Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow

Welcome to the site billz. Lincoln NE brings to mind a vision of the Capital spire visible from miles away. What is that interstate that run E-W just to the north of the Capital city? I loved the pheasant and whitetail hunting along the eastern most extent of the Platt years ago. (I abhor ADM and others for their damage [obliteration] of the American Farm Family). I bagged my share. For the longest time I was a Husker fan. What happened to, "Farm Aid" center piece WN?) I was a Plattsmouth and Bellevue resident for a combined decade of years. A site near Plattsmouth enabled many hugely successful goose hunts.

Sorry, I digressed. Welcome to the site.

What Next

After lurking for that long I am interested in knowing what your first accessory is (or was)going to be. You must have a shopping list a yard long:eek:.
So Many Accesories, So Little Time

Well Billz, here it is . The evening of the day you've been dreamming of for 3 long years... I'm sure you've found that permanent grin we all know so well.. Blast ain't it?... congrats on your new Rocket, I hope she serves you well. What color'd you decide on? Black I hope, but the inferrior colors are still faster than a shirley davisson, so congrats on NOT drinkin' the koolaide..
and Welcome to the fun farm.. xhdskip

Wow

I don't know where to start...
HeR3tic, it's I-80 thru NE and would like to work you back into the camp of a Husker fan! I think things are on the mends with Coach Osborne back. With OU on the schedule it just feels right.

Awesome bike, you guys were absolutely correct, the grin :D...my face hurts today! There was some pretty heavy traffic and cross wind on I-80 yesterday and that Rocket III just squatted down on the road and I held on! I would have been pushed all over on my Tiger.

I think I am ready for a 'bagger', but this is so much more. The neat surprise I got yesterday was Gus already installed the Jardines! WOW! Thought I had to wait for the 500 mile break in...you just hit the starter and :D:D. Folks @ Baxter indicated Jardines are REALLY hard to get, like wait til fall. She burps and farts on decel, but I am starting to like it , go figure.

Yes xhdskip, black. Screen (too short, a Clearview 2nd is on the way), lowers, lights, heated grips, crash bars and pegs (both are not in yet), sissy bar. Yes I hit the accessories hard, but the 3 year wait and the direction from this site drove me to a good decision.

But alas, I am out of $. Still need some bags, like the ones on newr3.

It's a great weekend so I will put on the 500 miles and provide more of my opinions and a few pics. Dang, I was just in the garage, black is beatiful!!!

My thoughts

Awesome bike. Tons of power. Getting used to throwing her into corners, but I am still a little chicken . RR tracks and expansion joints are painful, going to have to improve that a bit or my back will give out.

EVERYONE who sees it loves the bike, and when I peek into the garage I still have to pinch myself, dang cool bike .

Forgot to mention that I have the fuel gage and clock, can't have one without the other.

Jardines are cool, maybe one notch too loud (shoot I am not that old!) but dang they are cool.

Really impressed with how it handles cross winds and trucks. The wind is always blowing here and I don't need to bother with that as an excuse not to ride anymore.

Great Bike.:D

Biilz, can't wait to see a picture of your new BLACK beauty. sure glad you got the one you wanted instead of settleing for a lesser choice. Lord knows you had plenty of time to make up your mind.
Of course, the ongoing continuous battle between red and BLACK probally didn't help the decision making process, but thankfully, you made the right choice. Congrats again and see you in eureka springs? xhdskip

Eureka Springs

Yes, I would really like to make the trip, maybe meet up with the folks in the KC area and head down. However committing to the trip is a bit premature at this point.
