Checked the throttle bodies #1-540 #2-517 #3-502

Played around a wee bit the best I could do was #1-487 #2-502 #3-487
is this close enough, I noticed that if you messed around with the screws tooooo much the bike would start popping and cutting out.
The numbers were all with the bike idling.
The screws are between 1&3 and 2&3 hope I was not adjusting the wrong screws:eek:

First of all, what made you go to adjusting the throttle bodies? Second, can you believe our bikes are over 7 years old!

You should be able to get them to match. #2 is controlled by the idle stepper motor or idle adjustment. #1 and #3 are set by the two screws you are trying to use. Being an older bike like mine, you may have some vacuum issues.

As I've posted, I fought mine most of this year. Though, I was able to use TuneECU to balance my throttle bodies even when it was still running like crap.. :) Took it to my local dealer who, I beleive replaced the rubber mounts that connect the throttle body to the head, but made the problem worse by leaving a bunch of stuff loose, missed broken plug wires, etc. Tried some more on my own, then ended up giving up and taking it to the dealer in Austin, who found all the loose stuff (such as the clamps that connect the throttle bodies to the head, throttle cable, etc..). and got it running great. Cost me an ass load in labor though, but it's running better than ever.

Nearly seven years old and 54000miles:eek: maybe time for a new bike:D
Checked the throttle bodies with tuneboy and was just trying to get them closer together, bike is running okay only when I get to 90 and above the old WTF is not pulling me off my seat when I open it up, have never replaced the fuel filter and the plugs are about 25000 miles old so basically replacing bits and pieces that should have been replaced a while ago.

Dave,

I noticed when I rode to work this morning the finish is starting to bubble on the water pump cover on the FBG. May be getting new machine time for me also. Thinking about a Honda Rebel this time around.

Same with my bike George the water pump cover is doing the same:eek: wonder if Triumph will replace my bike under the lemon law:D

It's because both you old-timers are always scrubbing on the **** things. Surprised that you both haven't rubbed the chrome off everything else down to bare metal.

Hey.. my water pump cover looks pretty bad too! Thought about replacing with one of the chrome ones, but I just changed the coolant out recently!.. So maybe next time..
