Ride
rocket three x
Going to work yesterday was no big deal but coming home was a challenge. The wind was blowing at 27 miles per hour with gust up to 45 miles per hour. By the time I made it home my back and arms were killing me. Average speed home was about 45-50 miles per hour. Rude awaking. Normal conditions the Rocket X size is misgiving but in a heavy cross wind you realize real quick that your not riding a small bike. Not a bad ride in the wind but A few gust made me realize that no matter how good of a rider you are being careful and riding at a safe speed is very important at times. Came real close to losing it a few times before I slowed down. Lesson learned.:cool::cool:

I've been in some pretty bad storms while on the bike. The worst was in Sturgis in 2009 we hit a hail storm luckily we made it to a gas station with an over head canopy. It could have been worse...;)

Sonny, I hear ya. My ride to work has a portion of elevated freeway that runs perpendicular to the normal trade winds here.

Some days it's pretty bad and I end up looking like a drunk as the winds ebb and flow.

I will say, my fully faired Daytona 955 does no better in strong cross winds, unless I use speed to fight it. At about 150 they stop pushing the bike so hard.

Salina KS to Denver CO....spent the whole ride at an angle. Until I hit the hailstorm. Fortunately that was a head wind.
