Tank removal

Now you wouldn't be trying to avoid the police now would you?
Nope - more for maintenance. I don't know if you've ever tried to ride at night without lights. I have - don't like it.

If you really want to avoid them - use night vision. I've tried with MIL-SPEC goggles - not an experience I will retry. Really odd sensation - remember 2001 A Space Odyssey?

dave, if you google 'eastern beaver rocket III'..one of our fellow cap'tns uploaded several videos on you tube of the install..

Mully has it right. There are two 10mm bolts that hold the bearclaw. Remove them and set the bearclaw aside. There is one bolt at the front of the tank on a tab. I believe that you need a 5mm hex socket/wrench. Be careful when you remove the bolt as it may have a washer beneath it that will slide down into a great black hole and never be found. From the left side as Mully said, raise the front of the tank. I find it helpful to put a couple of fingers under the front tab and bend it upwards to help clear the gauges. You then use the prop wand to hold up the tank.

Once completed, you can use the link below for a pictorial on how to install the EB kit. Scroll to post #15.

This is so great! I never thought of "sneaking" the tank tab between the gauges and have resisted raising my tank because of having to remove the instrument bolts, etc. I just must try this with a towel around the gauges!
Better....wrap some protection around that tab after the bolt is removed and spread the gauges a bit to allow its passage!
Thank you! I feel liberated!
