Taking Bets

I still can't believe my wife thought I bought that bike using you as a proxy.

She Starts

She starts and runs but there is still more to do. Gas flows out of the overflow tubes like Grampa after a Mexican dinner. The bank will have to come off for a complete soaking and cleaning. I would imagine the floats haven't floated in quite awhile. The starter relay also decided it was time to go bad, so I am parts hunting. On the good side, the old plugs were in great condition. The right color tan and dry. The old oil didn't even look that bad after sitting for ten years. With the wiring sorted out and carbs reconditioned I believe it will be fine. It is kind of growing on me.

It's those goofy finds like that that make being mechanically inclined a joy. It's how I got my CBR.

Good luck with her, those older sporty jobs will surprise you with their ability to induce hoolaganistic permagrinosis. She won't look so ugly at ton up speeds.

Look at it then close your eyes. Imagine it being painted solid dark candy apple red maybe over a bronze base coat. With black wheels, I'm thinkin it would be a **** nice lookin bike. The banana yellow and black lightning bolt don't do it justice.

I kinda like the looks its so retro reminds me of the good old days and it looks good for its age I would keep it just to ride around and turn heads you just dont see em like that anymore.
