I would like to get a group buy and fit going with guys willing to travel to California. My idea is my best mechanic and myself could fly out and spend a week fitting supercharger kits from one or two centres in Calif. Perhaps a triumph dealership intersted in becoming a dealer in our kits.
I would need 6 guys minimum to make it worthwhile. The kits fitted would cost $5800 fitted and set up. Tuneboy would have to be on the bikes first.
If this can be arranged, I would need 50% deposit from each customer. I would ship the kits to a friend of mines house so I could pick up. I ain't going to carry 6 kits as hand luggage . I am looking to do this say the first 2 weeks of December.
What savings? The $ exchange rate means Americans will pay over 2 $ to the £ to buy, so that's over $5100 with bank commission etc. Shipping will be another $300. Import duty will probably add $2-300. I normally charge £600 ($1200) to fit and set up. So that's $6500 minimum to supply and fit.
So saving $700.
I can combine business and pleasure which will pay for the trip. It's a win win situation for everyone. Lets make it happen.
