Shorter shocks to start with. I'm running 11.5" progressives on the back, I'll bet you can go with 11" with no problems. Before I switched to the shorter shocks I could barely back the bike up on level ground, now its no problem. I'm 5'10" so not very tall myself. Oh, the shocks cost $199.
Biker1059, you must live among NBA players cuz I wouldn't say 5'10" is short. More average around here. I don't have any height problems with the Rocket even after raising her half an inch. Maybe you have short inseam.
Anyways, there are different brand shocks you can buy, TPHAN. Progressive ( www.progressivesuspension.com ) are nice and the base models start around $199. Personally, I like the 440 Progressives and they are closer to $400. The Rockets basically use same rear shock dimensions as Honda Valkyries so you can shop around for them if you can find Rocket. There are a million Net stores that sell these things. Just google it, man.
Another option is to shave or reshape your seat. You can do it yourself or have a seat customizer like Sargeant do it. You can gain half inch to inch just by shaving, even more if you have a customizer use better foam that supports without so much volume.
Dragline, I don't wanna know what the rest of your wardrobe looks like. I suspect you're gonna bring out the studded vest, collar, handcuffs and whip next.
