Starter issue.

From there it goes to the lights via a multi pin connector. Can you now check for voltage at the H4 connector? You should have power there as well (Blue/White and Blue/Red wires if memory serves).
I'm now wondering if you are suffering from the melted connector like I did.

I do have power at the blue wire in the starter relay. No power at the dimmer switch. I keep getting my battery terminals mixed up. All three wires have continuity to ground.

Just took a quick look at my wiring diagram and it seems the power to the position lights (small bulbs) is not routed through the connector that feeds the headlights. The headlight power comes from the relay, through the connector, through the dimmer switch and back out to the lights via the same connector. Have you check this connector? I believe on my Classic, it is under the tank.
The blue wire you refer to becomes Blue/Yellow after the connector.

Ok! I fixed it. And you'll never believe what the issue truly was. You're gonna hate me for being a retard.

When I was troubleshooting my starter issue, I thought the starter relay was the issue. So I swapped it with another relay.... and that relay only had FOUR prongs. Starter relay has 5. Ugh... maybe I shouldn't work on my bike after a long week at work! Thanks for your help!

Yep, that'll do it. Don't sweat it, we've all made bonehead mistakes at one time or another. I sure know I have. Nice to see it's fixed. Now let's hope that's and you can get out from under it and take it for a ride.

hey guy you are doing a great job!
question for mike are you using a volt meter to check the voltage out of the relay blue wire? and do you have 12 volts? it is possible to have voltage but not enough. i was wondering if you know what the loose wire that cause delay was to?

I don't know what it was to. See, I have my buddy who helped me rebuild it. He found the loose connection today when he was double checking the starter... so it's one of the wires down there.

And I am using a multimeter to check everything. Now all that's left is to go pick up my left side foot rail, gear shifter and sparkplugs from TriumphWorld in Regensburg this weekend. Saturday night will be my first long ride!
