Speedometer Intermittent working

Hi there, every once in a while the needles on the Speedometer and Tachometer on my 2005 R3 refuse to sweep when turning on the ignition. As soon as the bile is started, the Tachometer needle seeps and all the correct warning lights come on. The speedometer then doesn't work. Most of the time however, the needles sweep on turning the ignition on and everything, including the Speedometer works. have noticed that the trip meters tend to zero when the bike sands for a day or so. Any recommendations to rectify?

Mine did the same thing last year, the electronics inside your speedometer have failed. I coulda saved myself a couple days of troubleshooting if I'd listened to @STRIPES who had been through it the year before. The only remedy is to replace the speedometer
