Speaking of heat

I think that's probably true. I can be blasting down the highway and still have medium rare hamstrings. But I've got close to 25,000 miles on the bike, so I'll probably survive.

I seem to remember that there was something called Baker Airwings? They bolted up to the crashbars and you could set them up to direct cool air from the ends of the radiator to the insides of your legs. You still get some hot air from the radiator but the cool air dilutes it. :D

I've had Baker Airwings on my bike for about 3 years and they do help a lot with cooling the legs in the summer, and closed, they help warm the legs in the winter. I mount mine to the Rivco engine guards but they can be mounted to the radiator. I took them off for a while for cosmetic reasons but put them back on because they are worth the ugliness IMO.

I used to use the windshield only in the winter, its way too hot in the summer in Florida. And i havent used it in 2 yrs, should probably sell it, any takers?
I have a fly screen that i use now only..
also tried the lowers to help buffeting, it didnt work so i sold them asap. think they are a waste of time, money and look like crap.
Everyone else that uses lowers, Harley etc, recommend not using them in the summer because of excessive heat buildup.. I would get rid of them. oh i did.. ;)

Dave you poet you.:D Triumph has changed it's coolant to one that is better suited for aluminum. Something like water wetter I imagine. I just had my 20000 done and have noticed the fan doesn't come on as much, and as Flip and Scot in exil mentioned, keep the fbg movin.

Holy Crap! Made a nice 300 mile loop today to Tyler- Corsicana- Dallas and back. The weather was mid 80s max. Felt like 110 on the Rocket. I'm wondering if a person couldn't make a set of directional vanes that would direct the furnace down and out to the sides? The Jardines a roasting my right ham. Even runnin 80 on the hiway, I still toasted. Lower deflectors are coming off tomorrow. I'm also going to look into the exhaust tape. Otherwise, I aint a gonna be able to stand it when it gets in the 100's this summer!

Put your nads on ice when you ride. The shrinkage (considerable when you've got *my* package, ;) ), frees extra space in yer britches, which in turn allows more air to flow up your pant leg. It's very scientific when you think about it.

I only noticed excessive heat when I had my Roadster screen on and I was sitting still or moving slow. The big windshield seems to trap the radiator and header heat right in the rider area. I've since sold the Roadster screen since I didn't use it much anyway, and only ride with the fly screen.

Since I've recently switched to Jardines, I do feel a bit more heat off the header, but none of the heat is trapped with the big windshield out of the way.
