Yeah, my wife's decided she wants another bike of her own. That and the R3T looks f#&king incredible as a solo seat bagger . But **** they are expensive and our national carriers suspended courier packages between states and NZ over trump tarrifs and tax uncertainties so eBay out for me for now. Hence taking this option. Also love the image you have for your avatar / Tripps name tag

With the different contours on the gas tanks have you looked at how the Roadster seat fits on the Touring. If it looks all right at the tank the rest might be easy enough to fab up. Different plate and mounting points. You may be able to source them from a dealer. secondary parts or fab them up.

Thanks @Bob R measuring up and having a look at fabricating myself prior to starting. Want to ensure it's a viable project and not just destroying a worthwhile seat!

Had been advertised for sale here in NZ for some time and no takers, no one in local club interested. So why not won't fit my R3T as is.

Dont do it! Get a stock R3T dual seat and cut it down if you must, as they are cheaper and easier to find from folks who have upgraded previously.

The backrest alone recently sold in the US eBay for US$500+ as they fit ALL Triumphs with that backrest system - Thunderbirds, Classics, Roadsters and R3Ts,
The seat is the best dual factory seat for the Classic, Std and Roadster with or without the backrest fitted and is worth NZ300-400 by itself

I have bought and sold heaps worldwide for years.
I have sold all my R3T seats now 3x duals and 4 Solo buckets with and without the backrests and seperate pillions but am not acquiring anymore as I'm downsizing and moving still.

@Ishrub FYI have been contacted locally, may be trading seat only for another the same that has been damaged. Damaged one will suit my needs. Other guy has a backrest so I get to keep this one. Will see what condition and what damage (understand it's rear part cover damage). Keeping eyes out for a solo seat...
