Shocks question

Does anybody know if the shocks from a Classic will fit a Touring? What will they do to the ride if they do?

My original shocks are tired now and I can't afford Hagons or progressives at the moment and I've been offered a new pair pretty cheap.

I'm thinking no, but not positive. Other than the engine, almost nothing interchanges. You can have my original Touring shocks for free if you want to try them. Little rust, but probably less than 10,000 miles
