Thinking about replacing the stock progressive shocks on my Touring and upgrading to the adjustable pneumatic style I had on my Valkyrie. I would like to lower the bike an inch or two anyhow and they worked great on the Valk. Any advice from you guys or point me towards a good deal on a set?
 
I have looked into putting air shocks on my ride.

The Progressive Suspension site doesn't list any as fitting the R3T, but if you look real close you find that what fits the R3T also fits the Valkyries and Goldwings (standard shocks). So I figure a Valkyrie and Goldwing must weigh about the same, they are used for the same purposes, why shouldn't the air shock work?

Progressive won't warranty the shocks if they are mounted to an un-recommended bike. So that leaves you out in the cold if they blow. But I don't see why they should.
 
Please post what you find out. I too am thinking about lowering the rear of my 011 Touring model by one inch. I'm just looking to lower the bike, not for a pair of super wamo racing shocks.
 
I sold my Valkyrie Interstate to my father in law and it has the progressive air shocks on it that I installed to lower it. Should be easy enough to park them side by side and do some measuring. Great info....thanks! I will let yall know what I find out.
 
I have progressives 440 HD's on my 2010. I ride two up 99% of the time and I think they are 100% better than the stock shocks. There is a lot of info on this forum about different shocks and not all R3T owners like them. I think the biggest complaint is that their pretty pricey.

So in theory a guy should be able to use any shock intended for the rear of a late model HD bagger? Like the factory air shock that comes with the Electroglide, Street Glide, Roadglide, Etc.?
 
No the HD stands for heavy duty. So if you go to the progressive wed site and look up Triumph then go to Rocket 3 it will give you the correct shock to purchase. They tell you if you ride 2 up most of the time you should go with the heavy duty model. I might add that I don't think there site is up to date so when they ask for the year of the bike I think I had to put in 07 or 08. The shocks are same at any rate and you can change from the 12.5 STD length shocks to as short as 11.5 if you want to lower the bike.

Go get the ikons , , they make a shock which is 35mm lower . I put them on mine and dropped it trough the triple tree 25mm .

Love it , the bikes lowe,r looks good and i can now handle it very easy in the slow carpark stuff , it was a last ditched effort for me i was going to get rid of the bike it was too big for me ,

Now i've just sold my t bird because i can handle the rocket just has easy has the t bird with the lowered shocks so no need for two bikes , I found myself having to thinkof reasons to use the t bird .
 


The rear looks to be a bit taller than the front now, so I might not need to lower the front. But if I did, how would you do it? I never ride two up, so I don't need a HD shock/spring for the rear. My wife rides her own Road King Custom.

That would be cool if Harley bagger rear shocks would fit. Then you would have 2,000 manufactures making shocks for it!
