After reading some reviews on here I took the time to ride a few Harleys to see if that was what I was looking for.

I first rode the Road Glide custom, I liked the looks. It was a good looking bike with average pick up but did ride smooth, however since most Harley's are similar in size I knew where this was going as I felt like a shriner in a parade. I was uncomfortable on the small bike and could not see me riding it over 30-40 minutes at a time.

Next I tried the Electra Glide Ultra Classic- A white one that I thought was beautiful. it rode excellent and the 103 power was surprising but again that small tank felt like a minin bike and the handle bars were so close together.

I rode one more because it was supposedly the cream of the crop, A CVO street glide and the extra power was noticable but the size thing came into play and then I heard price, crap I could buy a new challenger for that kind of jack or a decent truck.

Rides like these make me appreciate the R3T that much more, especially after hearing the price of the others.

I bought my Rocket unridden. Frankly, it was the guys here, and Hellfire in particular, who's opinions I quickly came to value, that made me comfortable with my decision, unridden. And the rest, they say, is history.

Interesting comment about the small tank. One of my few complaints about the R3T is the width of the tank. Maybe if I was shorter it would not be an issue, but I would certainly like a narrower tank.

When I was looking for a new bike I checked everything which was close to my ideas. And I had the same feeling on the Harleys as you.

Small, uncomfortable and not fitting my size. I came from the Suzuki M09 and had a good lough when I sat on that "big" Harley. (my former ride is the green one in the vid).

I checked Victory, but my wife was against the Victory Vision. She told me that it is a Spaceship instead a motorcycle.

I checked the Honda Goldwing. Well was not bad at all. But I felt, with 60 I am still to young for a Goldwing.

and some other Bikes as well.

Finally I tried the Triumph Rocket Touring and I was at home!! The Motorcycle is just what I was looking for. The Design - well its different. But the Bike itself is a wonderful ride. After doing some Mods to gain more HP I started to do the best with the look from the 60's. Now I painted her black with red gimmicks and I will do some bodywork over the winter.

The Bike handles best of all what I tested.

Love my beast.

I didnt buy a harley because they are common... everywhere you see harley's. i've only seen one rocket before i bought mine.

the only thing i like is the xr1200 and the way the other models look.

oh and the v-rod uses a porsche designed motor so it's ok too

Entertaining video Hardy. The Vision is the stupidest looking bike ever. I could live with a Hammer but only if there were pretty much no other sensible choices available such as Rockets, VTXs, M109s, T'Birds, VN2000s, V-Rods, Diavels, even V-Maxs. Hammer might then win in a toss-up with a Fat Bob.

Nice M109. You really are just a big kid, aren't you? Me too!

Interesting comment about the small tank. One of my few complaints about the R3T is the width of the tank. Maybe if I was shorter it would not be an issue, but I would certainly like a narrower tank.

After riding Valkyries and now the R3T, most all bikes feel like my first bike, small and insignificant. I am sure being 46, 6'4" and 300 lbs contribuutes to that feeling as well.

I was like canberra brought half a dozen new bikes over the years. Never test rode any of them. Just had to have that Kwaka 1000 or GSX1135 or Soft tail because everybody had one. I test rode the R3R and had to have one. Another reason I went for an R3R instead of a Superglide is I don't personally know anyone who owns one.
