Rocket X #493 - Reporting to the Forums :D

Another Aussie welcome mate.
Well as far as exhaust goes.... As @CanberraR3 mentioned - it can be reversed. Now about your foot peg clearance - easy fixed buy the best quality rear shocks you can and go 1" taller - factory rear shocks are crap...... If still not enough find a set of foot peg rails from a "standard", this will give you a more forward foot position and more ground clearance, but a little messing about fitting them due to the ABS line for the rear brake.
You would be doing well not to molest the R3X too much - be like a Shelby Hertz Mustang one day I recon.

That is also something I was thinking of tampering with the rear coilovers.. I hit a dip on a very slight turn yesterday and felt the whole bike wallop when the rear suspension bottomed out.. I did some reading about options from progressive but in not sure which route to take precisely...

Regarding your comment about not molesting.. This is the issue in facing right now is 'tastefully' modding the bike to keep it as factory as possible... Everything I choose will need to be reversible so I can go back to stock if they become a high dollar item one day since I think I will be keeping this one for some time - if the ZX14 doesn't kill me sooner .

Not to worry I'm not the type that bastardizes fine machines (excuse my French); I just want to make a few functional tweaks and wake up the beast within... As much as the carpenter 240whp kit is appealing to me, I will NOT be going that route haha

Australians seem to dominate the R3 Market ... Nice to see so many on here, seems to be the commodore of motorcycles down there.. Or shall I say Ford Falcon as not to offend anyone

Welcome!
I too am a Newbie to the R3 experience. I see you brought some of the "Adventurer" culture with you as well. (IE:TWO Ram-X mounts for a fully "Device" laden cockpit.)

No worries! I'm still occasionally downshifting when there is no earthly or practical reason for it

A beautiful acquisition; enjoy!

You just offended me!!! Comparing the Rocket to a Ford, shame on you. There is a reason that Ford make a Harley Davidson model truck, it's because they are like HDs!

Hi Mo ........ while we Australians appear to be quite well represented here on R3O, Sydney roads and beyond, for example, are actually awash with HD on the weekend. Which in itself is not a bad thing I suppose. Most of my riding mates love their Hogs.

Unfortunately GM (Holden Commodore) and Ford (Falcon) are both ceasing Australian production in the next year or two, which is sad but we apparently can't build em cheap enough anymore. Toyota and Hyundai are the top sellers now.

BTW .... is 493 faster than 462?

I recon engine mods would be ok.

No no no sir don't get offended.. I would never associate a Triumph with a Ford, I was just giving an apples to oranges metaphor and tried being diplomatic in the example making it appeal to fans of both cars - I personally am a Holden guy

You always will be the elite group with sophisticated taste (I f sophistication is an appropriate representation of the hoot of a bike we ride )

Agree with you on the Austrailian Auto Manufacturer news.. It's very sad, there goes another action coming from 2 of the big three which ends an era for petrol heads world wide... I owned a 2004 Statesman International (Caprice SS), and a 2006 Monaro... Superb cars - will truly be missed!
Toyota will also pull out of manufacturing in Austrailia due to the costs associated.. Not many will miss the Camry though .

I cannot comment on which serial is faster now but I could promise to put up a big fight when all is said and done - On a side note, the dealership owner here has 463!!!

I recon engine mods would be ok.

You seem very confident in your opinion sir having seen your signature ... 223hp must be a friggen blast to ride !
