hi again, are all years rockets restricted ?
mines the 2016 ?
if so what has to be done to remove the problem.
thanks.

Your 2016 does not have the previous restrictions on the lower gears. They were eliminated in 2014.

I have the 2015 model and it has the restriction on it

Pretty sure a proper tuning with Tune ECU can easily eliminate this.

YEP its amazing all the Vtwins are trying to get every last bit of power out of those things and TRIUMPH restricts the ROCKET so they dont scare off the old HD owners so a de-restricted retuned ROCKET with a CARPENTER pipe and K&N filters will produce 165-175 RWHP or 200 +at the crank and loose a lot of weight as the Exhaust system weighs only 10 lbs

When my R3T was new and bone stock I greased a open piped 103 Switchback Harley off the lights at Doyalson he rang the 103s neck through 1/2/3 then gave up I backed off and he passed me with the finger then ran a red light at the next set rather than have another egg on face experience, nice as they are and sound brutal they are not that quick off the mark, I knew that when my Harley was on the road just cruised and avoid stop light drags.

It shouldn't. I'm pretty sure the restriction was lifted near the end of the 2013 model line up, when they removed most of the chrome on the model.

The so-called de-restriction happened in 2014. Before that, the power restriction was closing the secondary throttle plates in the tunes. Most of this was removed in 2014 but not all of it. You can see the secondaries are still closed above 4800 rpm in 4th and 5th.

YEP GOD forbid what would happen if they had full power tunes ? Too scary for the former V twin owners I guess
