Does anyone make a "test pipe" to replace the cat on the roadster? I would like to get rid of that in an effort to improve the breathing.Talking to the shop , they suggest that Triumph may be offering an "offroad" exhaust, but I have not seen anything concrete yet.

The only one's I've found specifically for the Roadster is the Staintune. They are part number TR CO ROC R for the collector only and TR MS ROC R for the whole system with the slash cut pipes. They look really good. I'd like to get them for my Roadster, but I'm sure the whole system is about 2K US. They don't have the price on the Roadster stuff on the site, I think you'll have to call them.

If you get any info, please post back. I don't like calling around the world just to get the price of something I can't afford right now.

EDIT:

I just researched the Rocket Roadster Exhaust from Staintune some more on their site. It turns out that there is a company called Calmoto in Mountain View California that sells the pipes and the collector. You can get them separate. I think I found my new exhaust. $450 for the collector only and $1,099 for the system. I'm going to call and check availability and most likely buy them today!

Did you buy the staintunes?

As I understand the $1.099 option is the one to go for. otherwise you will still have
the cat under the bike, right?

I have the Roadster TORS which are Cat free but apparently we have a third cat under the bike. there is still debates about this though...

I have not solidified my decision yet. I am still in Iraq and will be here for another 6-9 weeks. So I have some time to research it more, but after the 3 months of looking, I'm thinking the full Staintune system is my best bet. Since the Jardine system does not fit the Roadster yet, I'm forced to go with this second choice. The pictures on Staintue's site look really good. There is also a video of the pipes without their mid pipe (third cat). I guess they did not finish the cat delete kit by the time they published the video. I'd really like to hear what it sounds like without the third cat. Sounds like a beefy muscle car with the slip ons, I just hope it's not raspy with more flow.

If you end up getting them before the end of september, please post a sound clip. I'd suggest just getting the cat delete pipe since you have the TORs already. I'd bet they flow very similarly, just a little more open with the Staintune. If I were you, I'd see if there was the option of ordering the mid pipe by its self and possibly upgrade to the slip ons if you need more sound or really like the slash cut look.

Do not rush in and purchase an exhaust based only on what is currently available.

I see this regularly on new models. Riders will jump on what is available first, and it may not be the best for their needs and desires - sound, performance, looks, pricing, etc. And many times, they regret their decision as soon as something better is available.

Give the aftermarket a chance to catch up, and you might be happier in the long run.

Then again, your perfect exhaust may never be available. But waiting really doesn't hurt. ;)

Isn't the easiest option, assuming you've got the TORs just to cut open the under engine cat box and rip out the innards, then weld it up again? I guess you need to watch out for the nasty stuff in the box, and its maybe not the best shape, but for ten minutes work with the torch who cares?
I don't want much more noise though, the TORs are loud enough, but now I have the free Tune ECU programme to play with, the cable, and a mate with a laptop who knows how to sort it out for me. Must restrain the right wrist though, was well over the ton several times today on back roads, so easily, do I really need more power???:D:D:D

Yeah, but you need that box in a couple of years when it is time for the authorities to take a look at the bike. Has to be approved on a regular yearly basis, at least here in Sweden. Something like the DMV or similar authority.

you would never pass their tests without a cat, so cut the cat open would mean that you need to buy another similar one sooner or later.
still, cut it open for now would not be to bad!

The other option: Jardin is coming out with a new exhaust system just for the Roadster. The new EX will have 4 inch cans instead of the 3 inch that are currently.

Slash cut to the outside.

It will be four to six weeks, I put a set on order for myself.
