I got a hinge from a chandlery some weeks ago. Expensive fior what it is...but it should cut down nicely.

I have a few more i am looking at too.
The larger SS ones are too big in the hinge cylinder I think....
The Zinc Plated one is nearly perfect.

before discovering the early top clamp i had already turned my bracket into a hinged one by cutting most way thru bend in bracket then tacked a tube which was cut into three pieces, the middle piece tacked to one side and the two outers to the other side all three were held in line with each other by a bolt, once tacked the bracket was cut the rest of the way thru and the tubes fully welded, works a treat but the earlier clamp is even better and was not that expensive
