My RIII has the Rivco Risers put on by a previous owner. I'm not so sure I like them because the intruments are pushed out over the front of the gas tank up to the front edge of the gas cap. Well, they are on there and I don't have the stock risers so I guess I'm stuck with them. The DO raise the handlbars and bring them back to me a bit closer, which is good. But I wanted a little less stretch in my arms so I bought and am in the process of installing a set of CLASSIC handlebars. I want to go back to the OEM cable routing so I am going to get replacement clutch, throttle and brake lines.
This is what I have determined so far. Using the OEM cable/hose routing, Rivco Risers and the CLASSIC handlebars the cable lengths look like they need to be:
+3 1/2" for the clutch cable
+ 2 1/2" for the throttle cables
+ 2" for the upper portion of the brake hose
How does this seem to you? Has anyone else done this and have actual measurments for your replacement cables and hose?
Thanks!
