Dunno how old your bike is, Bull, but it's PROBABLY got an el-cheapo flasher can which is designed to flash at the correct rate, with the OEM bulbs and indicator light totalling about 22 watts. Your OEM flasher bulbs are probably 10 watts each.
If you change that electrical load by more than a few watts, the flasher will speed up or slow down or just not work. (LEDs are prolly only about 1 watt each.)
So count up how many watts are in use at the one time, with whatever setup you build, if it's much different to 22, you'll need an electronic flasher can. They self-adjust to electrical load, to maintain correct flasher rate.
The flasher can is behind the right hand side cover, next to, and ahead of, the starter relay.
