I love your trip. This is absolutely great and I am surprised how good you know your way trough Europe.
Only the planned tip back to Austria at the end seems a bit too much.

If you will travel in Spain from the Barcelona Region towards France I can at least give you some good ideas for stunning roads. I plan and organice a trip to Spain each year with big cruisers and it is a great contry for riding motorcycles.

Unfortunatelly I could not be of help wen you arrived in Germany. I lived in the Frankfurt area for a quite long time and I am a R3T rider since few weeks. I think you enjoyed the meeting with all the Sauerkrauts in Bad Brückenau.

Looking forwar to more reports from you wonderfull trip.

all the best

Hardy,,
yes the bad bruckenau meet was a sucess ,,,the food was fantastic and the place perfect.

I looked at your links and picked up some interesting tidbits but yes by all means do let me know of stunning road to ride on, I will be in Zazuar near aranda del duero in early august and from there will ride back to southern france so I can pretty much go anywhere interesting and I DO NOT KNOW THE ROADS THERE?
. on sunday 18th I rode up with friends from nice to beuil via the vesubie valley , then colmiane pass down to tinee valley and back up to roubion and beuil a very small alpine meadows village with a small ski resort and about 400 bikes !!!!! parked for an all inclusive meet we ate pan bagna (sandwich with boiled eggs tuna, tomatoes green beans, and dripping with olive oil) then went for coffe to a chalet on the ski slopes and tried the local homemade rocket fuel called genepi, I grew hair on my chest right after the seconf shotglass
then we rode back via the cians canyon back to nice where I dunked myself in the swimming pool till late evening , I took some pictures of the trip but I cannot post them my stupid computer wont read the camera memory card all in all we rode 200 kms and stunning road scenery from start to finish of which about 30 miles were actually carved out of the cliff side so imagine, you ride in a half pipe tunnel with the tumbling creek on one side a rock roof over your head and rock on the other side with natural fresh water dripping down from cracks in the rocks above your helmet.
this region is just perfect for motorcycles the food is superb and the girls are shall we say uninhibited,,,,,I must buy a helmet camera soon before my return to records the incredible road scenery and pleasure in riding in order to show my US riders friends what this experience is all about ,
I have ridden in some very interesting countryroads all over north america but I must admit this alps region is just out of this world for bikers and I suppose the pyrenee will be of the same ilk, so please let me know of spectacular roads to ride on in spain ,land of tapas ,corrida, and guapa chicas

signing off till I get the computer fixed (and i am typing on a french keyboard, there is one challenge I could do without)

Hi Patrick,

so that means you follow the road from France and I think it will be the atalantic ocean side with Bordeaux?

this is not my region where I do my trips. But I have a Spanish friend overthere in Valadolid and one in the near of Madrid. Both are M109 Riders and I could ask for some challenges for you.

The "tunnel-roads" in the hills or the very smal canyons you can have on some places, but mostly in the north-side of the pyrenees in France (Roussillion to be precise).

Ok let me know if you are interested in some good streets in the northern Spain map. I know there is some very impressive road up in the peaks of Asturias. An I think it is the road with the most possible twisties in Spain. I will ask my spanish friends and get more information for you.

I wish you alle the best to enjoy your trip, which is so great - even for people like me, who living here in "Heaven". Take care, ride safe, save all the things on your build in harddrive to think of it in some years in the rocking chair.

On my homepage you will find some information about some of the trips and there is a english translation button on the left. Well - its google translation, but it is translation.

Roussillion

thanks a bunch for the support , I will let you in on a secret of mine regarding roads for bike the yellow MICHELIN maps are the very best for showing the scenic part of any roads as they overlay a green line wherever the view is considered beautiful so far I have been in total accord with the maps . here are some pictures of the bunch who went up to Beuil and back to nice

what a great place and nice people on balaton lake Wished I could have been there,
as you know I cut short but I spoke to the girl the first night and got her to spend some time in a local motel away from the trouble, so I was able after all to ride through the dolomites and when I arrived I helped her in basically moving out. things will turn out ok I am glad to say.

riding in paradise.. the saga continue

for previous pictures look up the eurotrip album of albertaduke

sunday 18th
met a bunch of my firefighter's friends from the WFMC (firemen on harleys..
what else) and we rode to beuil that village in the mountains check the man in the kilt!!
he actually rode bare naked underthat kilt some women checked it out!!!

then a few days later a sweet young lady dressed in yellow underwear
took a liking to my yellow R3 and posed for me, I immmediately snapped a few
shots and now we are friends forever I emptied my belongings on her table to show her my
appreciation
and spent time in her swimming pool for nearly a week.riding between
my place in antibes and saint jeannet(her place) 15 kms away and about 200 turns .

on the 24th I pulled the pins and left for a small medieval town in france called
Monpazier in central dordogne, the heart of france for truffles and foie gras,
with several stops in between mileage is about 500 miles via the small
winding roads seems like nothing for captains in north america but believe me
it is definitively a two days ride over here first after riding along the coast of
mediterranee sea I stopped in
la Madrague village, a finger of land into the sea where kyte surfers from all
over europe come for competition since the mistral wind howls along the sandy beach
of l'almanare a up to 80 kms .
my friend in la madrague did not expect me so I had to sleep outside which was
fine considering the setup , the temperature in the night never drops below 20
degrees centigrades and no mosquitoes,,the plan for sunday is to go the the tiny harbor
of Port niel (5 KMS) away
have breakfast there coffee and sweet rolls then on to the beach for the day and nothing else.
