Hi guys!
The original relays on the triumph is Hella 4RA940010-71, at least at my bike.

These relays are hard to find here in sweden, does anyone knows if it's possible to replace it with a standard relay? As i can see the only difference betwen thies relay an a standard relay is that this on has a resitance embedded.

Most relays are the Normally Open type like for the horn, power is supplied to the coil in the relay and that closes the circuit which sends higher amps to the horn.

The starter relay is a Changeover Relay which changes the output from the relay from the headlights to the starter when the starter button is pressed.

What Atomsplitter said. When my Roadster fried the starter relay I just took it to the local auto parts store and they had me on my way with a replacement in 5 minutes. No biggie.

For some reason the forum dosen't send mail to me when sombody answer this thread , thats the reason why i haven't s replied to your answers.

What i'm loking fore is a replacement to the three relays at the left hand side of the bike, those with four pins. As i can see the only differennce between a traditional relay and the original is the resistor. Will it be ok to use and traditional relay or will me enging or computer be fried like a dead chicken?

Mac go to the top of the page click on thread tools and in the drop down menu click subscribe to thread!!!! It sdoes seem weird that your not being notified if this does not help look in you junk/spam mail and see if it is there. You might have to tell your mail system it is a safe address.
