Removing the &*(^&%^!@ seat

That battery will even start a 350 Chevrolet motor, it should be a piece of cake for it to start a ROCKET.

Thats impressive for a 200CCA 18AmpHour battery......

I am waiting on my East Penn Manufactured Deka(Big Crank) to arrive tomorrow...its an AGM that is rated at 310CCA and set a brother back only 81 USD...They make batts for HD in the USA!

Flip told me to always pull the cable off the starter bolt and sand down the corrosion on the area where the cable makes contact to the bolt...FWIW...:)

I'm sure (and hope!) someone on here has had this happen. I have just got a new (to me) Classic with the key and pull tab locking mechanism. I was just going to attach the Otimate trickle charger, pulled the tab and the f*+kin' thing came away in my hand! I can just feel the cable end but can't get any purchase on it to pull to detach seat. Any help/advice would be welcome

if u can get a piece of electrical wire through it then make a loop and pull.
that's what i have on mine.

I've removed the drivers back rest but have been left with a square hole has anyone got any ideas what I can put in it's place thanks inadvance

Ok so I hope this will help you as I remember the first time I tried to take mine off and I knew where the key was. it is in the lower right side cover.

So my problem was I could not turn the key. But the answer is you push down on the seat and then turn the key. it takes pressure off the locking mechanism.

Now there are a couple different seat styles the dual touring style that started on the Classic models.

with or without backrest does not matter.
Here is a shot of the bottom and latching devices.

Dual Seat latches.jpg

Here is the dual/single which mostly came on the Standards like yours

It has only one latch controlled by the key the pillon is bolted to the rear frame. You can go single or two up with this seat.

Now pushing the seat down when turning the key not only takes pressure off the latch (below closed and locked)

Below open with key turned

The key is pushing down takes the pressure off and stops the oh ***wit I just broke my key!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps any other questions ask away.
its worse on the trike I had to bend the key 90 and its a real pain in the ass. I gonna add a solenoid to it so i dont need to use the key unless battery is flat. Pull GM type see photo, its man enough so you might want to try it.
