Rear wheel lift, is this adequate

@PaddyO I have found that even with the JBQ installed, when lifting my Rocket the front end always comes up more than the back. Even with the rear tire off, the front comes up. That is why I made front support and rear support to level it out where I want it and keep things solid. I may clamp the front support I made on a small hydraulic floor jack so I can raise it up and down more easily. The adjustable screw idea I used on the support works well, but it can't be adjusted quickly on the fly. I made the support so it can be adjusted wider or narrow as well.

The problem I see with using a jack to raise the rear tire up and down is...you really will have to raise the bike way up in the air to get all of that under and in position. I can use my main lift to raise or lower the bike to get things lined in the vertical position for the install.

One other note...The thing I like about the JBQ is...if I am out and about and have a flat tire, any idiot at any shop can get the bike off the ground using that and not lift on the bottom of the engine as I am sure they would.

For folks having a heavy rear (.... of the bike) try unloading or removing the panniers. That will make it less top heavy as well when lifted.

Actually...Panniers off, exhaust pipes were off and then it tended to be more balanced to the front as I recall. I generally take panniers off when lifting the bike anyway. I carry a lot of crap in them which I'm sure exceeds the 15 pound limit.

I take the panniers off and the front still comes up before the rear. I have not yet tried this with the exhausts off.

It will be close, but I think the front will still come up first. It is very close to the balance point thus my rear support post. A full gas tank might do the trick.

I put two pieces of steel across the lifting arms of the jack gives some adjustability for balancing the bike.
