Rear diff oil?

What do people in the UK use for oil in the rear diff and how often should it be changed?

I use Amsoil 75W-90 Severe Gear Oil and change it every 2500 miles or twice a year. Over the top maybe but there is only 170cc in there and they are very expensive to replace.
