Rattling/Vibration at 4000 RPM

That's exactly what mine does sometimes, much less now than before. The neutral light goes off. You accelerate and the gear slips out. Imagine that in the traffic light! :D
Just makes sure it clunks in 1st and you won't have to worry :!:

Have your dealer check throttle body balance and clutch adjustment (no slippage)... Both of these will cause vibration on an R3...

My bike has plenty of vibration, especially after the turbo upgrade... Even with the HD Barnett clutch springs, full throttle roll ons from low speed in 4th or 5th gear will cause some slippage and along with it vibration... Even my stock rocket and then rocket with jars/unis vibrated especially around 3k rpm, but not like the turbo when I slip that clutch... Just giving suggestions as to what to check if he feels his vibration is excessive... In fact, the only Trimph I have ridden that didn't vibrate is the new '09 Bonneville... And I have ridden every one except the Daytona 675...

Hello again guys,

I was reading another post and then people started talking about fuel. Most of the people said to use 89 octanes. I use the 91 (or 92, whatever the premium fuel is) as recommended by the dealer guy that sold me the bike. I have to confess that was kind of confused when he said that because the compression ratio in this bike is lower than the V-Max (10.5:1) and I run Mr. Max with 87 or 89 and never had an issue. Why should I use top grade then? "Well, maybe because of the aditives" I though, so only filled with top grade since the day one. Could it be a reason for this vibration I feel? Just wondering...

I've run all three grades, I would imagine 89 would be perfect for the stock Rocket because of it's low compression ratio. I add some Sta-bil additive in once in a while to combat the ethanol

Many agree that the R3 just plain out runs better on 87-89 octane. I put premo in mine one time(93 octane) and the bike hicupd and ran below par for that entire tank. Never again will I run higher that 89. I just started running pure regular 87 octane and everything seems fine.

Just filled the tank with Shell 89. Put 5.7 gallons, so the remaining 93 gas left was well diluted. Same thing. Did not noticed any difference at all on the road. That vibration still starts at around 3200 and gets really annoying at 4000. I scheduled a service at the dealer, so I'll taking the bike there in a few days. Let's see what they say...
