I’d be trailering out and needing a drop place for the rig. The style of a central home base does work best for me so can acces different gear stored the base. If I was riding the Indian then the strung out tour would be more feasible. Just telling you about me and how I roll my Rocket.

Steve while I might not be King I can make the call to do a trip if I set my mind and make the proper plans. Gauntlet down.

Very Kewl. I do admit that although I punch no clock, on occasion my business seems to run me.
Just last year a last minute trial forced me to cancel the RAA East ride to Stearns.

Dave @breeze has offered rig parking at his place in Bloomfield, New Mexico.
Weather will be great, not too much gear will likely be needed, but I have learned the hard way and carry warm gear ALWAYS - Tis why I carry panniers and a rear bag on long trips.

I reckon since September, week 2 is chosen, CO will be sketchy weather wise.
UT or CA would be best. Compared to youse in the east, UT would provide the most different and unique scenery, & in spades.

Snails, hell we got plenty of time,in no hurry:rolleyes: Me all for a good days ride with or without others and sit and visit, make new friends, tell stories on old friends
At the RAA East events we break into groups, we have the looky-loos, we have the what a beautiful day for a ride group and we have the watch out baby here I come group.

What's the Coronado and Million Dollar Highway like in the first weeks of Sept? I may head across Texas and come up through Arizona and back into NM to your place then up the Million Dollar before RAA

Should be no problem what so ever for winter weather ways,as for rain, clouds who knows winter does not start around here till mid october, halloween time for the kids all the way up to easter. From the sounds of it you better be one of first ones here or you may be sleeping on the floor.sept. here still tshirt weather except MAYBE early or late in the day

I think that is what Dave is saying about diversity. Some how the groups of like minded come together so that you get the experience you want.

NM would be closer and easier for us. Mad Dog has proposed using my truck and 20 foot trailer as a chase rig in which all extra gear can follow and in case of a mechanical issue the trailer would be there every day to use as necessary. Possibly something to think about.

I hope we can do this before all that cold moves in. Last year we had very cold rain and snow in Wyoming during the second week of September.

Edit. I just looked at Bloomfield NM and I recall I’ve been through there a few times. Looks like a perfect place to set the rig and take off. Usually we start from Albuquerque on the four corners ride but Bloomfield looks even better.

Utah is the draw for me, I came back last time and promised the wife I'd take her to see it before we croak.
