Or just use some rachet straps from the handlebars to the truck bed and you are set
You really tied your bike down from the handlebars??
Brave man. Your lucky they didnt bend.
Never use the handlebars !!!! EVER !! On any motorcycle.

I always use handle bars
If your ratcheting it down that tight that the bars will bend
You will have no fork seals left when ya get there
You have to leave some travel in forks or your going to be replacing fork seals
Get the front wheel chock and be safe
Tie the bike in good
Leave some suspension travel and check straps EVERY TIME you stop they can loosen and will
Tie the back also

Well it looks like I will be camping at the Twin-Springs Resort less then a mile from the hotel. Only one more RV site available! Having never put a motorcycle into the back of a pickup are there any tips? Yea I know I should ride it but the wife can't pull the trailer.

FYI - There is a pick-up un-load dock at the deals gap store at the bottom of the dragon....its about 50 miles away form the motel but you can ride the dragon and the hell bender on the way back to maggie valley.
cant think of a better way to start your weekend.... there will be plenty bikers present to assist if you go during the daylight hours
