Was leaving work. Stopped at stop sign at end of drive. Put it. 1st, went to turn right when leaving stop sign. Lost all power. Typing on phone while I wait to be picked up. Any ideas why I lost power?

Sounds to me like the infamous switch! Especially when you were initiating a turn. As Tripp says try everything else first, but my bet is on the switch since you were turning! See if when you turn the key everything sweeps, can you jiggle the wires underneath and make it make a connection?

Most likely the switch but I'd check your main fuse. I've had mine blow before.

JD is on an R3 Touring. Isn't the ignition switch different?

This may be really dumb but are you sure that you didn't hit the kill switch by accident?

The switch is certainly in a different location, but I've never heard anyone address whether or not its designed any differently. Good question though.

Hi all,

Talking of grounds, where is the battery negative cable atached to at the engine end?

Regards,
Mark

Down underneath on the backside of the engine. Right next to the crank angle sensor. See High idle fix by Gothlander on the home page. Second pic. You can see the head of the bolt that attaches it peeking out behind the cable to the crank angle sensor. Just finished taking mine loose & doing a surface prep As well as cleanig the terminal with alcohol. also covered the exposed wires connecting to the terminal with shrink wrap.

Not familiar with the R3T but what about the dreaded white connector underneath the tank? Could that be an issue like it is with the Rocket std.

I guess my other post from my phone didn't get sent...
I had checked the battery and the fuses before I posted.

The kill switch hadn't been pushed. (I checked)

It's still got about 6 months under warranty thanks to Triumph extending it due to previous issues.
So, they can deal with it...

Anyway, since the dealership is closed on my off days, my dad is going to take it up there for me today.
I called yesterday and they said they should have it back to me within a week.
That's good to hear, but I also know how long it could take to receive parts if any have to be ordered.

It's the first time taking it to this dealership (Freewheelin in Douglasville, GA).
Hopefully, they'll have better customer service than Moto400 has had recently.
I wonder what they'll say about the car tire and the trailer hitch?

Good question.

That's the one thing I didn't check. I looked and was going to follow it, but it's wrapped up with a bunch of other wiring and I wasn't going to unwrap it to find out.
