The torque number is what you would expect for unrestricted low end, which is the case with the new roadster tune. The peak hp drops off precipitously above 5000 rpm because Triumph has severely restricted it there by closing the secondaries above 5000 rpm. You should expect peak hp at around 6000 rpm. Rumor is the ECU will lock up if you try to download a modified tune with a program like TuneECU. Don't know about Tuneboy. If you really want that high end power without risking the ECU, you could remove the secondaries, install a PCV and have it tuned in all gears.
The ECU should work as before with TuneECU on the current production models, I've saved the existing map and run diag on it just fine and asked about and been told it aint an issue to update it....just haven't had a need to yet The 5% speed difference on the clocks might need fixing soon as will the removal of the max speed limit.....If I do it I'll post the results....might wait until spring now though and let someone else confirm it can be changed! All the options are available in TuneECU to do it....
If you can download a modified tune using TuneECU without killing your ECU, there' s no need for a PCV. I wouldn't do that until someone loads a tune into the ECU on a 2014 without killing it. The PCV costs less than $400 US and tuning it should cost less than $300.
However, why do any of this? Do you feel the bike is too slow?

The difference between a factory tune and a custom tune is huge. The whole performance is improved. My torque curve is up and flat at 230 right out to 5k. You can sure feel it in the ride. Highly recommend mate. have a great day.
