I am at trying to remove the rotor to get to the stator. I have the OEM tool to pull the rotor. My question is how much torque is needed to get this apart? It seems like I am using a lot of force without any movement, I don't want to damage anything.

Put never-seize on puller threads, tighten tight and rap the puller with a good size hammer (three lb. engineer hammer)

Yeap it is the shock (while under pressure) that breaks it loose, not the torquing up alone.
Might even need to repeat the "tighten then whack" to get it fully loose to come by hand.
