PSA: Held Air n Dry have a design flaw.

They arrived today! Size 9, perfect fit for someone who wears a L in us brands.

I actually think they're going to be fine for me into the 30s using the Gortex side of the glove, more importantly, the vented side fits me absolutely primo, tight on the palm side of the hand and bottom of the fingers so I expect they'll have phenomenal feel to them. Ride testing starts later this week, tomorrows going to be a heavy rain day.

First off, I enjoyed the ride video. Considering where you live (very scenic and I loved your bikes performance) you need all the help you can get. When I was younger, I considered windshields were for sissies. Old age has taken its toll and now I consider it one of life's necessities. My hand protectors make all the difference in my glove selection. I took my windshield off one day and went for a ride. Halfway through the ride I thought...what the hell was I thinking...how did I ever ride like this...and I use to think this was fun as a kid. Anyway, you need a windshield where you live and the weather you endure. Style went out the window when I started getting cold. Oh the joy of youth..:):banghead:

Day 1 report:

GORYEX side did it’s job this morning, I filmed the ride but it was 42f and mostly 70-80 mph, some light drizzle. Not what I would call warm, but also, not cold. I could ride for an extended time at 42f in them. GORTEX side fits perfect.

Windy side not later in the day 51f and dry out, comfortable to ride in. Needs some breaking in but fit is good, feel is amazing on the controls. More feedback than my other kangaroo skin gloves.

Not compatible with my jacket though, cuff is slightly too small.

Rode in this morning in 31f weather...

That ten degrees made all the difference!! High 30s is the limit, started to get uncomfortable about about 10 minutes into my 30 minute drive!

30 minutes? I ride One hour and 15 minutes back and forth. IMG_0246.JPG Half of which is done in the wee hours of the morning. Work the night shift. Temps at time drop well below 30 degrees. No problems. 70 to 80 miles per hour average. No stop lights or signs. No bragging right but they work. Along with the First Gear full suit it seems to work out. Ain't froze yet. Not exactly your high dollar stuff but o_Oo_O

Love my first gear onesie :p Works great in cold weather, though, I've acclimatized enough to just wear just my uniform and leather jacket into the 30s, like this morning. Not the worlds most comfortable ride, but, it's tolerable and I like the brisk feeling.

I do agree with many reviewers who say these would work into downright frigid temps with heated grips, the cold really takes a long time to creep in.

I like the suit and glove combination. At #amn near 60 years old need to.:(:(:(:(:(:( Plus it helps about a half way through the ride. First 30 minutes not so bad but the next 45 minutes can at times be tough.:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Gloves arrived -- second time I went to put them on, the back velcro tab that closes the gauntlet pulled easily off in my hand, and ripped the seam in the process, exposing a poor design even more badly implemented.

I have written Motocard requesting a refund. The card with the gloves from Held say they have a two year warranty - no mention of a refund policy.

Paul...obviously this is totally unacceptable. Your refund policy states if Motocard doesn't want to refund you, including return shipping, and either pay for return shipping or you keep the gloves a chargeback will occur. That is one of the best reasons to pay by credit card. I know you are unhappy now but don't worry, you will prevail!

WOW!! Mine have been great, unfortunate that happened with your pair, I hope they take care of you.

If they don’t I’m sure the manufacturer warranty will get a new glove sent out. I’d send an email and a follow up with a call. That is really an obvious manufacture defect!

@Claviger unless these are totally different - one original the other an Asian knock-off -- this is a fundamentally flawed design.

The material is thin. They should be pieced together like excellent hiking boots with overlapping pieces and tight weave multiple stitch lines. Instead, they're designed and assembled like delicate lingerie -- not even my wife will wear that.

Anything in the gauntlet area should be double or triple stitched, and have extra material for purchase. Instead, the tab that closes the gauntlet is a 2mm insertion in the seam at that point with a single row of wide-spaced stitching to hold it together, and weak thread to boot. I'm sure the design (product made in China) was optimized to make 50 pair/hour @ $2/hour plus another $4 in materials.

I thought you were on to something, and this is a sham.
