For Sale progressive 440,s

I bought a spring tool and a set of springs rated at 140/200. (Standard is 120/170 and Heavy Duty is 210/250) I installed them on the 440 set I purchased advertised in this thread. They work very well. I took apart all of 440 shock I have. What was interesting is all of them felt the same. The same pressure to push them in and they all came back out at what appeared to be the same rate.
I have 3 sizes. 2 shocks @ 11.5 inches, 2 shocks @ 12.5 inches and 5 shocks @ 13 inches. Except for the new set all of these shocks leak to some degree. My 12.5 inch set I took off my bike has the right shock leaking fairly well, but the left shock not much at all.

To me the fact that Progressive won't rebuild them is a travesty. BAD ON YOU PROGRESSIVE. I have 3 sets of great shocks that are now useless. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I need to borrow a receipt for a set of 440 shocks to see if Progressive will fix them for me. Anybody have a receipt ?

Most specialist shock repair/builders workshops should be able to do yours too. Seals should be a fairly standard size I would imagine and various grades of fork oil could be used to adjust damping.

You should even get a bulk discount. It may be more worthwhile for a workshop and you to do a few at once and re-sell them as re-built units to folks here. Springs should be fine but those workshops would be able to test and pair them up.

You will need to keep the costs down as I imagine once re-built you would only get 2/3rds of new RRP if your lucky.

Both Traxxion Dynamics and Racetech told me no because they can't get parts from Progressive.

Do you have any suggestions who might be able to do this work ?

Nope but I assumed they would be 'stock' industry seals. Besides Traxxion Dynamics and Racetech would rather sell or service their own products.

A generic suspension shop preparing race bikes etc would be where i would start. We have a 'Suspension Smith' sole operator here in Canberra who just does motorcycle suspension builds and fitting etc. We are just a 400,000 pop but we have no race track and just offroad riders but he has been operating for 10 years or more. I imagine there must be dozens of such specialist operators in the USA.

Here is what I made with the NOS Shocks sold in this thread and the New Springs I put together.
